Carmen Miller
Carmen was born and raised in Athabasca, northern Alberta. Her passion for painting began at a very early age. Some of her painting’s depict scenery of the outdoors and wilderness
created while outside painting plein air. Many of her painting’s are inspired by places and exhibitions she’s had over her life.
To improve her skill set and learn other techniques of painting Carmen sought out other Artists whose painting’s she really liked and desired to learn how they painted them. Participating in workshops, online learning and many hours of practice these skills/technique’s were incorporated into her own personal process. She paints in oils, acrylic and loves daily sketching practices and paints plein air to hone her observational, and eye/hand co-ordination.
She is a retired Nurse and has resided part time in Scotch Creek since 2008. She is excited to have the opportunity to showcase her painting’s for everyone to enjoy in the Social District. You may have met her at the Adam’s River Art Market while the Adam’s River Salmon Run was occurring. She participated in the market 4-times, pre-Covid. She has exhibited her painting’s in “Art on the Green” at the Cedar Heights golf course in Blind Bay.
She enjoys meeting people and loves to have conversations about art in general.
